6. Clerk

Eligibility:
Candidate should be graduate from recognized University or Institution or its equivalent.
7. Manual Assistant

Eligibility:
Candidate should be graduate from recognized University or Institution or its equivalent with one year experience in Mechanical workshop.
Essential Qualification (For All Posts):
(i) Candidates should possess at least 120 hours course with working experience in the use of Personal Computers or Information Technology in office Productivity applications or Desktop Publishing Applications from a Govt. recognized institution or a reputed institution which is ISO 9001 certified OR A computer Information Technology Course equivalent to ‘O’ level certificate of DOEACC of Govt. of India.
(ii) Should have passed Punjabi subject upto Matric standard. However in the case of Ex-servicemen, riot victim persons or members of a family of a person killed as a result of terrorist action in the State; the person if selected will have to pass Punjabi of Matriculation standard within six months from the date of joining the service, if they do not possess it already.
(iii) The candidate should possess the above mentioned qualifications on or before the last date of receipt of applications. Candidates not possessing the essential qualification shall not be considered.

18 to 37 years (as on Jan 31, 2011) – Relaxation as per rules
Syllabus / Selection Procedure:
Selection will be based on written examination only. There will NOT be any interview. The question paper will be provided in English and Punjabi

a) Language Proficiency = 25 Qs (Punjabi: 13, English: 12)
b) General Knowledge = 25 Qs
c) Mental Ability = 50 Qs
d) Mathematical Skills (Matric Level) = 50 Qs
Note:
For the appointment of Legal Assistants, instead of questions of Mathematical skill, there shall 50 questions of Legal ability. However, law graduates can also apply for the rest of the posts advertised.
Note: Minimum qualifying marks for candidates of all categories will be 35% (Thirty-Five percent) of the total marks. In case some qualifying candidates obtain equal marks then for selection, preference will be given to a candidate with higher score in the Graduation degree. The merit list will be valid for six months from the date of declaration of result.

The requisite fee should be in the shape of crossed bank draft/pay order/bankers cheque in favour of Director Food and Civil Supplies Payable at Chandigarh. Candidate should write his/her name and address on back side of the draft, pay order / bankers cheque.

On the top of envelope containing the application form “Application for the post of _______________” should be written in bold letters.
